Support for your own cameras and meeting room peripherals means serious cost savings and instant scalability. All you need to build a Skype for Business powered meeting room is the Room 4 base system. Room 4 supports a wide range of Lync or Skype for Business certified meeting room peripherals. If it is supported by Lync or Skype for Business, then it’s supported by Room 4 – it’s that simple!
Room 4 is ideal for any meeting room size
Having the versatility of BYO and support for generic USB video conferencing cameras and meeting room equipment when building your Skype meeting room is essential because it allows you to build a Skype meeting room of any size and scale on demand with a single and discrete 4in x 4in device that conveniently hides behind your TV.
Dual screens and Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) cameras are especially useful in large meeting rooms (Room 4 Pro) of 6 or more people. In dual screen mode, Room 4 dedicates one screen for video conferencing and the other screen for content, allowing meeting participants to see content and video simultaneously. When a PTZ video conferencing camera is connected, Room 4 allows you to control it from within the call using the same remote control.
PTZ cameras are ideal for large rooms because their field of vision is much wider than that of a regular video conferencing camera, and when there’s many meeting attendees, you can move the camera to focus and zoom on the active speaker.
Room 4’s support of generic USB cameras and video conferencing equipment makes it suitable for any budget and any room size. Small huddle rooms do not need large displays or cameras, a simple USB webcam would work just as well.
Unlike other Skype Room Systems, Room 4’s support for generic devices allows you to use any display or TV brand, model, or size – all you need is an HDMI connection to Room 4.
